Sea Services of the Pacific S.A. - SERMAR – is a maritime services company established in Puntarenas, Costa Rica as a Port Agency, focusing  on supply management and services for all types of merchant and fishing ships and yachts for over 20 years, commercial tuna fishing and offshore sport fishing are our specialties. Our maritime services company started activities with the representation of merchant ships, and providing services to other agencies without port offices, steadily increasing with a reputation for great services and a no hassles approach

In 1984, SERMAR maritime Company initiated the representation of tuna ships, and currently handles over 90% of all tuna ships arriving for servicing and/or unloading and transferring of tuna in this fishing port of Costa Rica. While SERMAR’s maritime customer base has expressed much satisfaction during all these years, a new management team now brings along the proper mindset for this ever-changing business world. As a result, the company will provide an even better, more personalized and efficient service to meet all customer needs.

In order to provide better customer service, the company has designated three completely integrated areas with independent individual functions:

General Management – The executive in charge of this area is Mr. Manuel Fernandez, former Plant Manager for the most important tuna canners in Costa Rica. Due to his vast experience in managing fishing fleets in Ecuador and Peru, Mr. Fernandez has an integral knowledge of the requirements and necessary services for ships and ship owners.

Operations Management – Mr. Rolando Hoffmaister, a professional in Marine Biology, is in charge of this area, and has valuable experience as Chief of Port Operations and unloading control for the most important tuna canner in Costa Rica.

Services Management – This area is directed by Mr. Juan Carlos Fernandez, a young professional with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Maintenance. Mr. Fernandez has specialized in communications and customer service.
